Susan was born and raised in Los Angeles and the South Bay area in California. She has been a pet owner since 1996 and is the owner of Honey, an 11-year-old Yellow Labrador, and Peaches, a two-year-old Maltese. Having lost her first dog to cancer, Susan has become an avid researcher on pet health and safety.
Susan has worked in business research and marketing for years for many companies including Hughes Aircraft, Braddock, Dunn, & McDonald, Spar Marketing, Seltzer Chemicals Inc, and has worked with the American Association of University Women (AAUW) as a speaker, presenter, and fundraiser co-chair.
A teacher for 8 years, Susan has an AA in Business and a BA in Kinesiology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. While attending Cal Poly, Susan developed a strong love and appreciation for all animals. Their vast campus and strong agriculture department left a lasting impression on her.
Susan is married with four adult children and has lived in Newbury Park for 30 years. As a pet reporter she reads, evaluates, and presents current news and studies regarding human and pet health, and follows trends in the pet industry. She has a particular interest in the power of pets in the lives of the sick and elderly and is a strong supporter of adoption instead of puppy mills.
